Brock has informed me were MOVING to the new server!

"We may experience some domain propagation issues that will result in some people not being able to see the forum until their ISP updates their maps (for most hosts this is 24 hours), but I think there is something we might be able to do to influence this and make it refresh faster."

Seeya on the other side!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What will the address be? Back to good 'ol OLF.com or will we still come through the brockpoling addy? No offense meant, Brock; it's just that it was so much faster before <bg>

Maybe we'll be able to stop right clicking and opening new windows/tabs? That was the only way to really surf this forum.....

The dns changes will happen tomorrow, and all of the links will be connected to the new server, and the discussion db will be updated on the new box.

Depending on how the propagation works it may look like the fourm is offline to some of you untill your isp refreshes their dns maps.

Hank, does that mean you don't have any cybernetic implants? Not even legs or arms? I think Lance has cybernetic arms. He types real fast.

Cybernetically challenged? Isn't that some weird New Age religion?

Personally, I belong to the First Church of Situational Ethics. You pick which 6 of the Commandments you want to follow on any given week.

No cybernetic parts, yet. Still running with the factory originals the good Lord gave me. Therefore, I type with two fingers....I need the rest to string up slot head guitars!

Well? Are we there yet? When I go to     "http://www.luthiersforum.co m/", I still end up re-directed here. Yet, there doesn't seem to be much traffic here, as this is always at the top, and there isn't much if anything new.

Nope -- not yet - There was a snag and the process was halted.

The server that the site is running on needs rebuilt. Something is causing the IIS service to stop. We have an automated restart in place that will give it a good whap up side the head when this happens, but the server is offline for a couple of minutes while that is happening.

I know this is not an ideal scenario, but there are almost 50 clients on this server and we have had a plan in place to migrate everything on this machine off to other boxes anyway... so it seems kind of crazy to go after this problem (huge amount of work).

The better solution is to move the Lutheir's Forum off to its, new, permenant home.

However, we ran into a security snag yesterday and we have to address this issue first before we can move the code over to the new box. I am still thinking this can happen by then end of the week.

:-)

Don't you guys have a Head of Homeland Security over there? Surely he can sort it out, that's what you pay taxes for.
